Seeking a Defense Litigation Associate specializing with a focus on NYS Labor Law and personal injury litigation practice to join a firm with a strong Northeast presence and a global reach. Given the global nature of the firm and broad reach of practice, this role will involve working collaboratively with colleagues in all of our offices as well as our local counsel throughout the country.Location: New York, NY office preferred. Open to the following additional offices: Albany, Uniondale, White Plains, NY; Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, CT; Boston, MA Responsibilities:Research Labor Law and personal injury issues, and collaborate with senior attorneys to devise related defense strategiesTake and defend depositionsManage discovery and e-discoveryDraft reports, legal memoranda, pleadings, discovery demandsresponses, motions, briefs, etc.Participate in trialADR planning and preparationRepresent clients at courtroom conferences and motion appearancesManage day-to-day aspects of Labor Law and personal injury files, under supervisionThe firm requires a minimum of 1900 billable hours annuallyRemoteHybrid opportunityQualifications:3 years of general liability litigation experienceJuris Doctorate from ABA-accredited law school Admission to New York requiredAdmission to Connecticut, Massachusetts, andor New Jersey admission (or ability to waive into NJ) preferredExperience before NYS courts required; federal experience a plusStrong deposition, motion, pleading and e-discovery experience requiredFamiliarity with Zoom, MS Teams, and other video conferencing platforms to participate in depositions, court conferences, and meetingsMust have ability to travel for in person depositions and court conferences, including overnight, as neededExcellent research skills, writing skills and verbal communication requiredMust be able to function effectively in a fast-paced, team oriented environmentDemonstrated high level organizational skills for prioritizing workloadDemonstrated ability to absorb, process and understand, new information rapidlyMust be able to manage competing prioritiesMaintains high standards of performanceExhibit conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibilityMust have a professional, cooperative, positive and flexible attitudeMilitary experience welcomeSalary: $125,000- 175,000How to Apply: If you're ready to take the next step in your legal career and have the qualifications above, I encourage you to apply.
