Seeking a mid- to senior-level Intellectual Property Attorney with computer scienceelectrical engineering background to join our Intellectual Property team. Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications is required and technical expertise in computer circuits, multiprocessor design, andor telecommunications is of particular interest.Responsibilities include: • Interviewing inventors and preparing patent applications • Conducting all stages of US and foreign patent prosecution, including ex parte appeals • Conducting validity, infringement and freedom to operate studies, including preparing associated legal opinion letters • Providing legal counsel on intellectual property matters, with a focus on patent matters and including basic licensing, trademark and copyright matters • Opportunities to work on and develop skills in licensing and litigation • Collaborating with partners, associates and support staff to ensure effective case management • Staying abreast of developments in intellectual property law and contribute to the firm's knowledge baseQualifications Include: • 5 years of patent prosecution experience• JD from an accredited law school and active bar license • Computer ScienceElectrical Engineering background to join our Intellectual Property team• Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications is required and technical expertise in computer circuits, multiprocessor design, andor telecommunications is of particular interest. • Technical background (BSMS preferred) • Registered practitioner at US Patent and Trademark Office (or at least Patent Bar Eligible) • Strong research and writing skills • Superior analytical skills • Familiarity with intellectual property law and patent litigation procedures• Litigation experience is a bonus but not requiredWhat is offered:Competitive salary and excellent benefits package.Opportunities for professional development and advancement.A collaborative and supportive work environment.A chance to be part of a reputable firm making a difference in the legal landscape.How to Apply: All converstations are confidential. For additional information on this opportunity, please contact Heather at (605) 401-6061.Resumes may also be sent to .
