Accounting SpecialistAccounts ReceivablePOSITION: Fulltime - Hybrid (Downtown Pittsburgh)JOB SUMMARY: The Accounting SpecialistAccounts Receivable will provide accounting support to the Controller, including account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting. The ideal candidate must have experience working in accounts receivables, preferably in a law firm.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Provide accounting support to the Controller, including accounts receivable, account reconciliation, and general ledger accountingMaintain accurate and complete records, including ledgers, journals and receiptsPost, verify and record all client payments and retainers related to accounts receivable and trust accountsSet up ACH payments with banks to receive client paymentsProvide support to staff for reconciling filing fees and other expensesProcess daily cash receipts, ACH deposits, wire transfers and credit card payments and accurately post them to the proper accountsReconcile monthly bank account(s)Assist with journal entries and monthly receivable reportsAdditional duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS:Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.Experience: Prior accounting experience and experience with accountingbilling systems preferred. Experience in a law firm or other service environment a plus. Mathematical aptitude and ability to organizeprioritize multiple assignments, work independently on various projects, and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with individuals at all organizational levels. Possess a customer focus and have a history of providing the highest level of customer service. Able to organize and prioritize issues and workload.Skills: Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload. Must be able to work independently and always display a professional demeanor. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and interact with a diverse group of contacts and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact. Computer skills such as Excel, with knowledge of bookkeeping software.
