Accounting Specialist Full-Time | Flexible Hours (Monday-Friday) | Boulder, CO Area | Hybrid ScheduleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Accounting Specialist to join a mission-driven non-profit team in the Boulder area. This full-time Accounting Specialist role offers flexible hours Monday through Friday and a hybrid work schedule, blending remote work with occasional in-office collaboration. What You'll Do As an Accounting Specialist, you'll maintain the integrity of financial data and support preparations for an upcoming NetSuite implementation. Your time will be split between two primary areas: Data Entry (60% of time): Process invoices and bills via , focusing heavily on accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). Perform coding accuracy checks to ensure vendor and payment details align ( can be incorrect ~40% of the time, so attention to detail is critical). Set up new vendors as needed. Format and upload check run postings and other transactions into a financial system, ensuring clean data loads without disrupting existing formulas. Process Snapshot: Monday and Tuesday are busiest, tackling incoming items in . By Wednesday, this tapers off, freeing up time for other priorities. Data Cleanup & Research (40% of time): Research old checks, redirect funds as needed, and resolve inconsistencies in historical data. Perform light reconciliation tasks to track payments and ensure accuracy. Clean up financial records to prepare for a smooth system transition. Process Snapshot: Mid-to-late week shifts to focused project time, allowing the Accounting Specialist to dig into research and cleanup efforts. Experience Must-Haves: Proven understanding of accounts payable processes, particularly from a bill-pay perspective. High accuracy and keen attention to detail-especially when verifying vendor and payment information. Comfort with Google Suite (Google Drive, Chat, Gmail, etc.) for communication and collaboration. Experience with virtual desktop environments. Basic Excel proficiency: ability to work with CSV files, understand formatting differences, and preserve formulas during data uploads. Nice-to-Haves: Familiarity with , Dynamics, or NetSuite. Experience with light reconciliation tasks (e.g., tracking payments). Previous exposure to data cleanup or system transitions.
