Leads projects with identifying issues and risks and ensuring the issues and risk are resolved in a timely manner. Provides leadership and mentoring on project management best practices (including scope, time, cost, communications and risk management) for team members. Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all project staff are defined and understood. Identifies cross-organizational barriers that impact multiple projects or programs and ensures these barriers are removed. Works with senior management across Information Technology and the business area(s) to accomplish this. Consult with IT and Business Leaders to review initial investment initiatives to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing a project, estimated staffing requirements, and allotment of resources. Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of project financials. Leads, directs and has full management accountability for staff in area of responsibility with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic direction. Sets direction for project management practices, processes and procedures. Ensures consistency of project management practices across projects. Builds a community of practice for all project managers. Facilitates and encourages the sharing and adoption of best practices and lessons learned across all project managers. Responsible for overall accountability of project management, including planning, task tracking, and RAID collection and reporting. Overseeing project financials, reconciliation, and budget management. Ensuring projectPMO compliance and control. Enhancing business processes and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs). Will interact with PMs and other team members Skills: Skills, Knowledge and Abilities In-depth technical knowledge of project management practices and processes. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of external andor internal business partners within scope of responsibility, team andor matrix environment. Leadership and management skills demonstrating integrity and professionalism. Ability to drive results by identifying and resolving problems within scope of responsibility. Knowledge of the insurance industry, its products and services. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software. Experience working on financial projects (Required) Managerial focused (Required) Extremely independent and Reliable (Required) Keywords: Education: Education and Experience Bachelor's degree required, master's degree not mandatory Typically a minimum of ten years of related work experience, with five years of management experience. Applicable certifications preferred.
