Chief Electrical Estimating position open in New Jersey. Well-established electrical contractor seeking a leader for their estimating team. Prior experience in electrical or MEP estimating is preferred. Job SummaryChief Estimator is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing all estimating functions, including development of project budgets, estimates, cost tracking and project support for all divisions. Develops and implements all department standards and procedures. Responsible for review of all final estimates packages to ensure accuracy and completeness. Also responsible for maintaining the company s estimating database.Manage department activities, makes self available to staff, provides regular performance feedback and develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth.Manage all estimates.Review bid requests and proposals.Prepare weekly bid calendar and ensures complete, accurate and timely completion of estimates.Responsible for prioritizing and planning work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.Delegate work assignments, sets expectations, monitors delegated activities and workload, motivates others to perform well and accepts feedback from others.Attend job walks and report information back to manager related to critical differences in job drawings and bid requirements.Prepare bid summary and review estimates with Estimator, Project Manager andor Division Manager.Review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.Follow-up on bid results and maintain estimate tracking log.Analyze estimates vs. completed projects.Provide Accubid software system support and maintain Accubid database including weekly updates.Develop and provide estimating training.Maintain department confidentiality.File, organize and maintain estimate files associated with above-referenced tasks.Perform additional tasks as assigned.Qualification RequirementsMinimum of 10 years electrical estimating experience.Field experience as an electrician or a degree in Construction Management preferred.Extensive experience using Accubid software or similar systems.Strong ability to conceptually estimate electrical construction projects.Extensive working knowledge of electrical construction industry.Ability to understand all types of drawings and technical specifications.Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, fire alarm and other systems.Experience in supervision, coaching and staff development.Strong analytical skills and statistical background.Strong written and verbal communication skillsProficient in use of computers and Microsoft Office.BenefitsEmployer Paid Medical Insurance for employees and eligible dependentsEmployer Paid Dental & Vision Insurance for employees and eligible dependents401(k) and Roth(k) retirement plans with company matching contributionPaid HolidaysPaid VacationPaid Sick LeaveEducation Assistance ProgramAnnual Company EventsApply directly or submit your resume and project list to Sandy Josko at , or calltext 605.799.4799.All inquiries are CONFIDENTIAL!Connect with Sandy's LinkedIn page for more exciting career opportunities! qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.GPAC (Growing People and Companies) is an award-winning search firm specializing in placing quality professionals within multiple industries across the United States since 1990.
