For more information, visit us at Department Mission StatementThe mission of Manufacturing Engineering is to establish manufacturing control through process development, creation of standard work, and cross functional collaboration to guarantee process safety and quality while supporting improved delivery through efficiency.POSITION DETAILSPrincipal SummaryManufacturing Engineering is responsible for the success of manufacturing process performed at Leslie Controls. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining the manufacturing processes of components, subassemblies, and top-level assemblies while meeting all design and quality requirements. This position will also serve as the liaison between Manufacturing Engineering and Operations.Principal ActivitiesDefine, maintain, and control the technical standards for use by Manufacturing EngineersDefine process control requirements and lead PFMEA activitiesSupport the growth of constructive relationships between all departments of the organization and other Circor locations globallyMentor and develop the technical abilities of other Circor employeesEvaluate complex manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from shop floor workforceParticipate in the evaluation, procurement, and start-up of new capital equipment with a focus on modern technologyLead trouble shooting efforts on and off the shop floor in RCCM activitiesBe the prime contact on high-level Manufacturing Engineering projectsMaintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing industry networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, andor participating in professional associationsWhen requested, take on a leadership role in CIRCOR Operating System (COS) activitiesAchieve and hold government clearance as neededTravel as needed, anticipated as less than 10% of working timeProvide manufacturing and manufacturability input for production planning, design, or repairUpdate the ERP system with proper process routing and other manufacturing support informationParticipate in or lead continuous improvement projects that support the Lean Manufacturing methodology such as SMED and Kaizen eventsEngage with vendors to arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts to necessary specificationsquality standards and evaluate products accordingDesign layout of equipment and workspace to maximize efficiencyRequirementsUS Citizenship required due to Navy Nuclear Propulsion Information requirements
