Job DescriptionSign-On Bonus andor Relocation available for select candidates!We are looking for an Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.Your Responsibilities:Designs and analyzes complex electro-mechanical components and systems for pumps, motors and generators using engineering expertise. Conducts studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs others in the development of design information for use in reports, specifications, and drawings. Serves as leader for technical teams.We Take Care of Our People:Paid Time Off I 401K with Employer Match and Profit Sharing I Health and Wellness Benefits I Learning and Development Opportunities I Referral Program I Competitive Pay I Recognition I Employee Stock Purchase Plan I Inclusive & Supportive CultureYour Challenge:Analyze electro-magnetic (EM) fields of EMS product (pumps, motors, generators, exciters), using the latest 2D and 3D electromagnetic finite element analysis (EMFEA) codes, techniques, and principles to evaluate designs, solve complicated technical issues, and predict product performance.Create and exercise electrical system models that capture component interaction, including VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), transformers, excitation systems, and control systems.Plans and coordinates the execution of complex engineering solutions including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical presentations. Analyzes assigned tasks to provide estimates of manpower and material required to complete projects. Prepares schedules for accomplishing tasks within estimates.Provides guidance and expertise in electrical engineering to design complex rotating equipment and systems and to investigate, evaluate and develop new applications for existing equipment and systems.Designs and conducts experiments, collects data, and interprets results. Conducts analyses and writes analysis and test reports using engineering expertise. Capable of driving for solutions in the face of ambiguity. Determines theoretical principles involved and applies advanced analytical and investigative methods and techniques.Leads technical teams in design and analytical activities for product design and development and production. Mentors less experienced engineers and is involved in development of their skills. Master useful understanding and apply engineering software tools and systems.What you Bring: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required, Masters preferred. PhD a plus15+ years' experience in Electrical Engineering with a transient simulation skill set.Working knowledge of one or more of the following: 2D3D Electro Magnetic Finite Element Analysis, System Modeling (Mathcad, Matlab, Flux2D), Acoustics, Thermal AnalysisAbility to create models and drawings, present design reviews, and perform trade studies and design reviews.Ability to perform analysis and studies with strong attention to details in a fast-paced environment.Small design team leadership and capable of coordinating multiple project responsibilities.Must be a team player and have knowledge of MS Office SuitePreferred experience with ability to perform analysis and studies with strong attention to details in a fast-paced environment and Electrical design team leadership.Must be sole US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DOD Security ClearanceWho we are:Our ValuesEnvironmental, Social and GovernanceEMD a business unit of Curtiss-Wright in Cheswick, PA designs, manufactures, tests, and provides after-market support for the most advanced, proven and reliable critical function pumps, motors, generators, seals, control rod drive mechanisms and power conditioning electronics available anywhere in the world today.
