Litigation Legal Assistant

TSS is assisting our client, an award-winning mid-size legal firm, in hiring a Legal Assistant. This is a full-time, direct-time, onsite opportunity in Roseland, NJ. This role can be 2 days remote if you meet their required skill set.The Legal Assistant will support 3 Attorneys specializing in white-collar criminal litigation and defense. This role involves handling various administrative and legal tasks critical to case management and the team's success.Key Responsibilities:Provide administrative support, including preparing legal documents, organizing files, and managing data.Oversee all aspects of expungement procedures, including drafting and filing documents.Draft and revise legal documents such as motions, subpoenas, briefs, and discovery requests.Maintain attorney schedules, coordinating court appearances, client meetings, and deadlines.Handle electronic filing of court documents at state (e.g., NJNY) and federal levels using platforms like E-Courts and PACER.Assist with reviewing and organizing discovery materials and case municate professionally with clients, ensuring confidentiality and responsive service.Track billable hours and assist with invoicing using billing software.Provide additional litigation team support as needed, including occasional overtime to meet deadlines.Qualifications:2 to 4 years of experience as a legal assistant in litigation REQUIRED.Bachelor's degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent experience preferred.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and OutlookFamiliarity with document management systems like NetDocuments or SurePoint is preferred.Experience with e-filing systems for both state and federal courts.Strong multitasking skills with excellent time management and attention to detail.Polished communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanor.High-level accuracy in drafting and proofreading legal PENSATION AND BENEFITS:The salary range for this role is $75,000-$85,000yr DOE.
