ABOUT THE JOB Wilson Daniels is seeking a highly motivated individual with sales experience for a unique opportunity to promote our portfolio of iconic French wine producers nationally. In this newly created role, the French Field Specialist will work collaboratively in the Field with the Wilson Daniels sales team across the U.S. to drive sales of our French portfolio by executing selling and educational activity for the Trade and our distributor network, increasing the visibility and velocity of each producer. This position will involve domestic travel at least 50% of the year. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/THE DAY-TO-DAY Develop extensive knowledge of the Wilson Daniels French portfolio, including in-depth expertise on each wine relative to the competition. Arrange and execute visits to key U.S. markets in coordination with the regional Wilson Daniels sales team and Portfolio Director. Cultivate impactful business relationships with key decision makers. Identify potential new customers and develop a business plan to reach them and grow our business together. Prepare professional sales presentations for each account call tailored to the needs of the customer and consistent with the vision of Wilson Daniels and the producer. Increase brand awareness and visibility by representing the portfolio at key Trade and Consumer events, and conducting staff trainings/education programs within accounts. Ensure execution of the developed sales strategies, objectives, goals and targeted revenue, while providing excellent customer service. Meet annual shipment, depletion and account penetration goals. Prepare detailed Market Visit reports, summarizing accounts visited, wines presented, placements made, follow-ups required, market insights, and opportunities. Maintain current knowledge of key markets & competitive dynamics. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks. AM I THE RIGHT FIT? Not everyone can be a French Field Specialist. To be seriously considered for the role here is what you'll bring: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience 3-5 years in the Wine Industry, in a Sales or Marketing role directly interacting with Trade, Distributors and Consumers Skills: Extensive knowledge of French wine and the competitive landscape for French wine in the US market Drive, motivation and acute attention to detail in ensuring all sales opportunities are captured and explored Established working relationships with key accounts Proven track record of successful selling in the French fine wine category Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and objection handling skills Persuasive public speaking and presentation skills and the ability to close deals Brand building and external sales experience is preferred Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT a must) Ability to work a flexible schedule depending upon the needs of customers French language and cultural fluency is strongly preferred Physical requirements - Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Lifting and carrying: this role may involve lifting and carrying product samples, promotional materials, or demonstration equipment up to 50 lbs.
