SummaryThe Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst will be responsible for developing and preparing various analysis of firm financial results as well as assisting with the budget process and subsequent reporting of actuals vs budget.This is a hybrid role. Three days in an NYC office.This is a Senior Analyst opportunity for someone experience with Law Firm Financial Planning & Analysis. ResponsibilitiesAssist and support key strategic initiatives in the Firm with financial modeling and data mining analysisPrepare impactful visual presentations of complex data to facilitate decision makingDevelop new approaches to integrate information from multiple sources to improve the ability of decision makers to have access to critical business intelligenceHelp identify and analyze new ways to understand underlying Firm profitability, including development of business models for practice areas of the FirmWeekly, monthly and annual preparation of standard management reports as well as any ad-hoc analytical requests from managementAssist in managing the annual budget and reforecast process together with preparing related summary analyses and presentation which entails working with different Branch Office DepartmentsPerform monthly detailed expense analyses between actuals vs budgets of departments, offices and projects within the Firm including explanation for the variancesWork and communicate with Branch Office Department Heads as a Finance liaison to improve analysis of financial informationManage project improvement initiatives involving coordination of efforts between multiple departmentsProvide system support related to the extracting and loading of data across aggregate storage systemQualificationsBachelors degree6+ years in Law Firm Financial AnalysisHighly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Oracle Hyperion EssbaseKnowledge of SQL and legal professional services database structureKnowledge of various information technology accounting systems (experience with Elite 3E is a plus)Comprehensive analytical and problem-solving skills including profitability, cost accounting and financial modeling experienceStrong and proven project management skills, written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, business writingProactive and results oriented with excellent organizational skillsAbility to deal with all levels of firm personnel and client contactsAbility to work in a team environment and independently
