For more information about Sungrow, visit: Position:The Electrical Engineer position is a remote position that it plays an important role with this rapid growing company. This is a very dynamic and fast-track position reporting to the Engineering Managers for the Center of Expertise. The position will be the key member of service team. This is a highly technical customer facing position.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform a variety of engineering assignment involving technology applications involved in the installation, operation, testing and maintenance of various solar inverters and battery storage technologies.Perform as a lead on more complex field engineering teract with customers to explain the technical scope of projects.Create Field Service procedures for troubleshooting, and maintenance.Provide training to Customers, Vendors, and Internal Personnel.Coordinate with R&D engineering in China for the generation of technical documents and training.Lead the preparation of root cause reports to the customerLead technical escalation reports from customersAnalyze failures for trends requiring proactive actions and provide reports on findingsProvide feedback to the R&D team on possible mechanical and electrical design improvementsAdvise, provide training on, and lead employees on various safety-related topicsPerform electrical and electronic troubleshooting and testing of solar inverters and its components in the field or in the laboratory. Use of PQA and oscilloscope is required as neededPerform troubleshooting to investigate solar plant issues such as DC arrays grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transientsLead upgrade or retrofit projects (software and hardware) in the fieldWork with customer SCADA engineers to set-up systems communication and parametersResearch alternative components that can be used in the fieldIndependently performs a range of field service tasks involving communication with Factory Engineering and Customer's solar plant engineerCoordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistic, financial, and program management disciplines to maintain the solar plantsHelp on the repair activities in the Service center.Prepare, deliver and submit field reports to customer and managementSupport development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of workConduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alterative, and provide recommendationsInspects working conditions to ensure all products and activities are compliant with safety guidelinesMinimum Requirements:4 plus years of overall experience.2 years of experience in solar inverters for Engineer I, 4 years for Engineer II.EIT Certification a plusMust possess the ability to work with test equipment and hand tools as requiredMust possess customer service, problem-solving skills, and possess decision making and analytical skillsMust possess effective written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrates broad knowledge of electrical and construction site safety.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, power Point and Outlook)Must have basic knowledge of Electrical Safety StandardsEducation or Desired License and Certificates:Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or power electronics engineering.Solar industry, battery industry, or power electronics experience is requiredCompetenciesTechnical problem solvinganalytical skillsSelf-starter, strong initiatives and an excellent communicatorSystem and product level mindsetOrganization, detailed-oriented nature and strong initiativeStrong technical support focus and a service oriented individual both with Sales team and customersEnglish Language Proficiency requiredMandarin Chinese Proficiency desired but not required.Spanish Proficiency Required for Positions in Latin America (Excluding Brazil, where it is desired but not required)Portuguese Proficiency Required for Positions in Brazil.Travel50% +Work Location and Status:Full time, Hybrid in the Denver areaCompensation:Compensation commensurate with experienceCompetitive benefits package and employee programsStrong personal and company growth opportunitiesFor candidates in the states of California, Colorado, New York and Washington, the anticipated annual base salary for this role is between $80,000 - $100,000 This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.
