Our client, a Financial Services Firm, in Iselin, NJ is seeking an Underwriting Manager:Key Responsibilities:Oversee and manage underwriting operations for fix & flip, DSCR, and bridge loansDevelop and maintain standardized underwriting procedures for consistency and efficiencyAssess credit risk effectively while balancing business needs and investor requirementsLeverage AI and automation tools to improve efficiency and streamline workflowsManage underwriting data and analytics to track trends and improve risk assessmentCollaborate with Sales, Processing, and Capital Markets to align underwriting with investor buy-boxesLead, train, and scale the underwriting team, including the India teamSet clear escalation guidelines to reduce bottlenecks while maintaining strong risk oversightIdeal Candidate Profile:Proven experience underwriting fix & flip, DSCR, and bridge loansStrong data and tech skills - comfortable with LOS systems, AI underwriting tools, and reporting dashboardsProcess-driven mindset - can develop and enforce standardized underwriting proceduresUnderstands AI-based credit models and where human judgment is requiredExcellent decision-making ability - able to assess risk without over-conditioning dealsLeadership and training experience - can scale and mentor an underwriting teamCross-functional collaboration skills - works closely with Sales, Processing, and Capital MarketsAbility to scale underwriting operations and ensure efficient knowledge transfer
