Candidates will need to be ready to work with an engaging team and possess a "roll up your sleeves and get the job done" work ethic.We offer a complete compensation package (salary commensurate with experience, group health insurance package, bonusprofit sharing, 401(k), company stock, etc.).The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for verifying the quality of all receiving, in-process and finished products that are produced within production and prior to shipment. The Quality Control Inspector will follow all Quality Management System processes and procedures that are in place for upholding Quality Certification Standards for the company. The successful candidate will have a background in welding and fitting with flux core as well as, knowledge of submerged arc welding process, knowledge of blueprint reading along with weld symbology, and working in a structural steel environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Responsible for ensuring that all codesspecifications and contract documents are followed• Inspector shall document all inspections on all QA Inspection Reports along with updating information as far as acceptance and rejections • Inspector is required to fill in in the absence of other QC inspectors to perform visual inspections (as needed and directed by the Director of Quality Assurance andor Quality Manager) • Assist and provide guidance to all contracted and 3rd party inspection companies brought in for job specific inspections • Works closely with the production staff to gather priorities for shipments requiring inspection • Ensure all operations are being followed by the schedule • Relays to tractor operators of the layout and needs throughout the day to keep production on task Works closely with Quality Inspectors Review all work orders and drawings to ensure compliance to the contract documents • Works with the Salespeople (as needed) to ensure work order accuracy is to the contract documents • Gives guidance to productions personnel and training for needs (as needed and at approval of Director of Quality Assurance andor Quality Manager) • Complete NCR's for all material that is deemed non-conforming • Reviews all daily production datapaperwork to prioritize daily inspection tasks from the prior shift • Reviews 2nd shift inspection hand-offs Conducts inbound and outbound inspections • Conducts Welder Qualifications and Procedure Qualifications Generates Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS's) • Other duties as assigned by leadership MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) • 2year technical degree require, 4-year degree preferred or equivalent combination of work experience and education • Must have knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASTM specifications and AISC standards • Minimum of one-year experience within structural steel and metals • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment • Ability to achieverecertify Level II UT and Visual Inspection Certifications andor CWI • Must pass hearing test, visual acuity test and necessary recertification testing • Knowledge of Inspection and Quality Control methods, techniques and equipment • Knowledge of use of a wide variety of measuring instruments and engineered drawings • Training in the following areas: General Safety and Quality Management System(s)Please click the link below to be directed to our website where you can submit your application for this great opportunity to join a winning team!
