Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Family Practice in Boston, MA

About The Position A correctional facility is seeking a family medicine physician for locum tenens coverage. Creds take about 1 week. While in Boston, Massachusetts, you have the opportunity to see one of the most historic cities in the United States. In between all the tours and famous sites, take a trip to Fenway Park or get some seafood at any of the downtown spots like the Union Oyster House that is one of the oldest restaurants still in operation today in the United States. This correctional medicine position in Boston, MA, is needed ASAP for a 3-6 month assignment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM, with no call or weekend requirements. The caseload consists of 15-20 patients per day, plus overseeing individuals in medical observation, serving an adult-only population. Required certifications include BLS, CPR, and CSR with DEA, and candidates can be BC, BE, or GP in FM/IM. Procedures include standard correctional care such as treating coughs, colds, physicals, and possibly suturing. Credentialing takes about one week, and prior correctional experience is preferred, with leadership experience being a plus but not required.
