OverviewThe Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead-acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries can be found in your car, in your boat or RV, or, in your lawn and garden equipment. Stryten proudly supports the local community by regularly participating in Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and providing more than 100 volunteers for the Smoky Hill River Festival.The Operations Manager will direct, coordinate, and evaluate plant operations to deliver finished products on time, of high quality, at targeted quantity, within established cost objectives, while maintaining established levels for both work in process and finished inventories.Apply online or text plantjobs to 97211 to begin your pre-screening process!ResponsibilitiesExercise direct control of production, quality, volume, cost, schedule and inventory target compliance.Assure production levels are attained by anticipating needs, establishing goals, and determining priorities.Determine direct and indirect manning requirements to maximize throughput with minimum manning.Anticipate equipmenttooling needs, make recommendations, and develop alternatives to avoid production down time.Meet budget limitations for total unit cost.Direct and lead the plant Continuous Improvement team. Encourage and submit cost savings measures.Actively promote safety and health programs by setting an example, developing processes, insisting on clean and orderly work areas, and maintaining low blood leads and good work habits.Meet or exceed product quality specifications as evidenced by QCPC and turn-back rations within established guidelines.Recognize potential in subordinates and take affirmative action to develop and promote employees, while establishing inclusion and accountability.Promote cooperation between shifts, assure excellent communication avenues, and provide recognition.Promptly review disciplinary problems and recommend ply with current Quality Systems requirements.Follow Excel Lean Manufacturing procedures.Perform other duties as assigned by management.QualificationsBachelor of Science in Business, Management, Technical preferredExcellent communication skills to interact with employees, supervisors, engineers, visitors, and corporate officials.5+ years of Sr. Management experience in a manufacturing puter knowledge and skills; MS Office, Google.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
