Position: Oilfield Electrician - Multiple Night and Day Shifts AvailableSchedule: 52Location: Hobbs, NMThe Oilfield Electrician is responsible for overseeing the electrical systems and equipment at specified oil sites. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.Roles and Responsibilities:Monitoring and Maintenance: Regularly inspect and monitor electrical equipment and systems, including generators, motors, transformers, and control systemsTroubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize production downtimePreventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all electrical systems and components in an oil & gas environment, specific to Production, Compression, SWDWater and Flowback environmentRepairs: Execute repairs on electrical equipment and systems as needed, ensuring all work meets company and industry standardsSafety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe working environmentDocumentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspectionsCollaboration: Work closely with other team members, including day shift operators, engineers, and supervisors to ensure seamless operationsEmergency Response: Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively, implementing appropriate measures to secure the site and resolve issuesTraining: Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on the latest industry practices and safety standardsEducation and Certification Requirements:High School DiplomaGED equivalent with 3+ years Oil & Gas Automation Specialist experienceElectrical Assessment requiredValid Texas or New Mexico Journeyman's license, Master Electrician license or similar electrical certification highly preferred; additional safety or technical certifications a plus;Qualifications:Experience: Two or more years' experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an oilfield or industrial settingSkills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, knowledge of electrical systems and equipment, ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematicsPhysical Requirements: Ability to work in outdoor environments and adverse weather conditions, lift heavy equipment, and stand or walk for extended periodsOther: Must be able to work night shift, including weekends and holidays, as neededWorking Conditions: Exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, including high-pressure equipment and chemicals and outdoor inclement weather conditionsGrand Isle Shipyard (GIS) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
