GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIESUnder the direction of the President & Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for providing direction and guidance to all financial areas within the Corporation on a supervisory basis; the development of long-range financial plans; and the maintenance of financial public relations activities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupervise and direct the finance, purchasing, and IT departments, including revenues, disbursements, payroll, purchasing and procurement, and data processing.Responsible for all financial operations and record keeping, including the transfer and disbursement of funds.Develop and maintain liaison with financial institutions serving the Corporation.Develop long-range financial plans.Responsible for corporate investments and money management.Maintain and update the Corporation's manual of financial and accounting procedures.Safeguard the Corporation's assets.Serve as Treasurer to the Corporation and report to the Board in this capacity.Assist the President & Chief Executive Officer in matters of real estate, including purchases, sale, and leasing.Review and complete timecards for assigned staff for payroll using the corporation's online time-tracking system on a bi-weekly basis.Oversee all financial reporting to outside institutions and entities.Work closely with outside auditing firms.Perform other related duties as assigned by the President & Chief Executive Officer.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESStrong financial background and excellent supervisory and management skills. Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems. Ability to communicate effectively with people, both verbally and in writing.ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCEA four (4) year degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or finance, plus a graduate degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, plus a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a senior level financial position; or a combination of training and experience totaling sixteen (16) years. Experience in the gaming industry preferred, but not required.Must be approved for and maintain a valid Video Lottery Gaming PrincipalKey Employee license and racing license issued by the New York State Gaming Commission.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift or move up to 15 pounds at a time, move files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. The person in this position must be able to talk and hear in order to ensure proper communication.
