Purpose: The Lead Quality Auditor will be conducting daily internal product/process audits, maintaining product quality records, and providing quality control support throughout operations. This role is to promote the Quality Management System, continuous improvement, teamwork, customer satisfaction, and individual job excellence, being a change agent who can influence others to achieve results. Main Responsibilities: Perform internal quality audits and utilize results to drive continuous improvement. Document non-conformances, control non-conforming material, lead non-conformance closure, and participate in the identification of corrective actions. Support outstanding open non-conformances and identify steps for closure. Recognize improvement opportunities and work with cross-functional supervisors to agree on acceptance criteria for closure. Serve as a technical resource to Mobile Substation manufacturing team. Work closely with Mobile Substation design engineers to utilize existing metrics to improve Mobile Substation designs. Support and train Quality Auditors. Help develop audit strategies based on opportunities found. Perform some functions of the Quality Manager in times of Absence. Specific Duties Promote and maintain the company's Quality Management System and supporting documentation. Act as a change agent to see actions through to completion. Accompany customers during onsite inspections and resolve any customer concerns. Provide quality control support of incoming material and perform detailed dimensional inspection of component parts. Have product technical knowledge, an understanding of engineering drawings, part specifications, and related standards. Support and train manufacturing personnel as needed. Provide calibration oversight to verify that equipment performance is meeting the manufacture requirements. Perform diagnostic tasks in solving QA anomalies and test failures. Maintain filing of supplier documentation. Occasionally perform inspection and witness activities at customer or supplier sites. Education and Experience A BS degree is preferred; an associate degree in a technical discipline with related work experience is acceptable. Possess or able to obtain ASQ Certified Quality Auditor certification. Minimum of three (3) years' related work experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent written/verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively as appropriate to the needs of the audience. Knowledge of the following is required - ISO 9001:2015, Total Quality Management concept, internal auditing, manufacturing experience. A team player, with strong technical aptitude, problem solving skills and knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies. Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with all levels of the organization, suppliers, clients on matters of quality and final product acceptance. Must have the ability to teach, generate concise detailed reports and implement metrics to measure process performance.
