About The Position **Job Title:** Locum Tenens Physician**Job Specialty:** OB/GYN**Job Duration:** March 27, 2025 - March 31, 2025**Shift:** 24-Hour On-Call**Guaranteed Hours:** **Experience:** **License:** Active Ohio License**Certifications:** NRP, Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN**Must-Have:** Clean malpractice history preferred**Job Description:**- Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for the Family Birth Center.- Must be within 30 minutes of the facility.- Primarily responsible for OB call; emergency GYN cases unlikely.- Only OB/GYN on call during locum dates with typical coverage being 1:3.- Facility includes a 44-bed hospital with med/surg, ICU, and birth center.- Manage an average of one delivery per day.- Physician team includes 3 OB/GYNs and 1 GYN.- Onsite lab and ultrasound available.- Support staff includes RNs, RTs, CRNAs, and anesthesiologist.- Not responsible for office visits.- Average of one nursery admission per day; Nursery Level I.- Use Meditech Expanse for documentation.**Required Obstetrics Procedures:**- Manage low-risk pregnancies (e.g., history of twins, toxemia, pyelonephritis).- Manage high-risk pregnancies (e.g., toxemia, diabetes, chronic lung or renal disease, Class II+ cardiac conditions).- Perform OB ultrasounds and Level I/Screening (Viability).- Interpret fetal heart rates NST/CST/FSE.**Labor and Delivery Required Procedures:**- Conduct routine vaginal deliveries, low forceps, and decision-making for C-section.- Handle complicated deliveries including C-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions.- Repair 3rd and 4th-degree lacerations.**Gynecology Required Procedures:**- Perform surgical gynecology open procedures.- Conduct laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures (e.g., tubal ligation, LOAs, chromal tubation).- Carry out operative/major procedures (e.g., ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOAs).**Estimated Credentialing Timeframe:** 2-3 weeks for temporary privileges.
