Financial Controller

General Job SummaryUnder the general direction of the CFO, the Controller manages and maintains the Accounting Department in short and long-term priorities. The Controller uses analytics to create budgets, control expenses, and maintains the business' accounting health. They must identify proactive solutions to satisfy needs, and successfully implement them. The Controller will oversee the Accounting Department and ensure that all accounting is done accurately, and in a timely fashion with continuous status updates to leadership.Essential Job FunctionsHave a strong understanding of fiscal policy and regulationsManage accounting proceduresAnalyze trends to reduce financial risks associated with making investment or spending decisionsEnsures the company complies with laws and regulations, including tax complianceDeveloping plans for growth to increase company profit while also reducing expenditureAble to prepare and analyze period-ending reportingPreparing and processing company tax filingsCreate usable budgets for the business, including evaluation of the needs of each department in the long termOffer advice to leadership regarding spending and budget questionsHire and oversee Accounting Department, including giving directions and delivering evaluations.Other Duties and ResponsibilitiesOther duties as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervises team of accounting professionalsSkillsExperienceTraining RequiredBachelor's Degree in Finance and 5+ years in a senior manager role, Master's Degree in Finance or Business preferredCPA certification preferredExcellent written and oral communication skillsProven success as a people manager
