Job titleProject Manager Location Victoria, TXJob purposeThe Project Manager is responsible for developing and delivering projects from conception through completion. Working with a diverse group of employees and contractor personnel, the Project Manager will have the accountability of delivering multiple capital projects which include equipment replacements, efficiency and quality improvements, and safety environmental enhancements. Responsibilities AND AccountabilitiesPromotes and enforces safety principals and Global Life Saving Rules and ensures contractor compliance.Plan and lead the development of engineeringdesign, construction and inspectionQC strategies for multiple projects up to $30mmyear.Responsible for the safe design and installation of projects, in particular safety during the execution of the project.Champion safe work practices among hisher work group and contractors.Account for all aspects of project performance including schedule, cost, operation, reliability and close out.Ensure projects comply with applicable government and company regulations, policies and terface with other plant departments to share project design, priority and status information.Work with the Procurement department to procure materials and services as required, including the Storehouse Manager for parts and capital spares associated with assigned projects.Participates in the MOC process, performs MOC reviews on all projects involving change to process equipment and operations.Works as a job representative for outside contractors working in the plant.Participates in audits, inspections and interviews, including BBS, housekeeping, safety Principles, etc.Participate and assist as needed during plant outages and turnarounds. This may include longer hours. Education & experience BS in Engineering Construction Science or work experience in manufacturing environment, preferably the chemical industry.minimum of 5 years of experience in the refining or petrochemical industry.Skills & KnowledgeStrong communication and team leadership skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong commitment to achievement of excellent SHE performanceStrong planning and organizational abilityTechnical awareness of unit operations and maintenance issuesProactive problem solving, decision making and conflict managementStrong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups in sometimes tense situations to gain consensus and a clear path forwardBusiness acumen with an understanding of key business drivers, budgeting and financial reportingAbility to initiate and drive change, flexibility Ability to use the client specifications particularly INEPS and H229 piping specificationsPrevious experience with project scope definition and work package generationPrevious experience in project management and project schedulingPrevious experience in constructionmaintenancePrevious experience with the oversite and management of contract workforcePhysical requirements:Ability to climb fixed ladder cages at heights of 30 ft. at a time. Total of 200 ft. (Employee may need ladders as means of egress during emergency).Ability to climb 6 flights of stairs. Ability to enter enclosed spaces through 18" man-way for cleaning and inspection purposes.Ability to lift 50 lb.Ability to wear required PPE: Hardhat, safety glasses, chemical goggles, face shield, rigid safety shoesboots, fullhalf face cartridge masks. Ability to work length of time outdoors inclement weather. Job specific: Climbing, balance, bendstoop, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying.Need to evaluate understanding of proper lifting techniques and body mechanics.
