Job Title: Communications Engineer Level II Location: Remote (Preferred: Near Greensburg, PA, or Reading HQ, SC)Duration: 1-Year Contract (Possible extension based on project needs)Pay Rate: $35 per hourPosition Overview:We are seeking a Level II Communications Engineer with 3-6 years of experience to support the Long-Term Infrastructure Improvement Plan (LTIIP) project. The role is primarily remote but may require occasional office visits or on-site assessments in the operational areas.As part of the Communications Engineering Team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of RF communication systems, leased line services, circuits, and supporting infrastructure (including DC power systems and backup generators).Core Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain telecom infrastructure and RF communication systems.Support deployment and maintenance of Field Area Network devices.Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, procedures, and technical requirements.Manage network documentation and update mapping data in the Geographic Information System (GIS).Provide technical assistance for installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.Author, edit, and manage departmental policies, procedures, and technical documentation.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver project outcomes on time and within budget.Key Qualifications:Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Networking, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent work experience).3-6 years of professional experience in telecommunications or network engineering.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).Strong technical writing skills and familiarity with document management systems (e.g., FileNet Content Navigator).Ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.Preferred Skills:Knowledge of RF test equipment (e.g., DMMs, antenna analyzers, spectrum analyzers).Experience with circuit design and infrastructure for data transport (RTUs, routers, switches).Familiarity with SCADA systems, RTUs, and telephony systems (PBX, key systems).Understanding of environmental systems (HVAC, ACDC power systems, batteries, generators).Project management knowledge and familiarity with AutoCAD or GIS tools (preferred but not required).Principal Accountabilities:Maintain high system reliability and availability across all communication platforms.Support LTIIP communication-related initiatives.Ensure adherence to change management procedures.Collaborate across departments to align network and business objectives.
