Typical Day in the Role• Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is non-profit, tech for social impact (TSI). Support budget management and program management tasks. This contractor will support the business financial rhythms. This role will be responsible for managing month-end close processes, forecasting, actuals reporting, and budget management to ensure all budget owners are spending to plan. Additionally support monthly accruals and cross charges journal entry (JE) requests and proactively manage budget variances communication with budget owners.•Key projects: This role will contribute to not only experienced with the monthly OPEX and month-end close processes but also possesses strong communication skills. Ideally, the candidate should be familiar with the Mercury finance reporting system to reconcile expense reporting, publish OPEX reports to budget owners, and collaborate effectively with budget owners to establish a forecasting process.•Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 20-30% meetings (alignment with budget owners), the rest of the time coordination effort, month end, support forecast profit, work with budget owners, prepare for next (travel, spend, consolidate and input)Responsibilities --Manage the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.-Develop and maintain forecasts, providing insights and analysis to support business decisions.-Oversee actuals reporting, ensuring alignment with budget and identifying variances.-Collaborate with budget owners to ensure spending is in line with the approved budget.-Support monthly accruals and cross charges JE requests, ensuring compliance with accounting policies.-Proactively communicate budget variances to budget owners and provide recommendations for corrective actions.-Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reviews and presentations for senior management.-Provide support for the annual budgeting process, including the development of budget templates and guidelines.-Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.-Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures, and support internal and external audits as pelling Story & Candidate Value Proposition•What makes this role interesting? - This role provides the opportunity to work with a friendly team that is supportive and has good energy.Candidate Requirements•Years of Experience Required: 5-7 overall years of experience in the field (budget management, financial analysis, or a related role).•Degrees or certifications required: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.•Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain the below:-Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools.-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.-Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.-Experience with OPEX management and financial reporting in a corporate setting.Preferred Qualifications--Experience with Microsoft budgetary processes and tools.-Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.-Familiarity with project management principles and practices.•Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines, quality of work, and feedback from who they will be supporting on their budget.Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience1.Minimum 5-7 years experience with Excel.2.Minimum 5-7 years experience with Project management.3.Minimum 5-7 years experience with Budget management.Hard Skills Assessments•Expected Dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled: ASAP.•Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include HSA with Microsoft sponsor.•Required Candidate Preparation: Candidates should have prior experiences prepared prior to the assessment.
