Our Client is specialized in crafting the finest Italian cured meats such as salami, coppa, and pancetta, utilizing Italian artisanal methodology on American meat. They are looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor for their plant in Bartlett, IL. This person will play an important role in their USDA-inspected facility, dedicated to manufacturing their Italian Dry Cured Meat line.The primary function of this position is to assist the FSQA Manager to ensure the Company has the highest product quality and food safety. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years experience working in a USDA facility, ideally with some experience with meat production. Knowledge of safe food handling and USDA regulations is essential for maintaining their high standards of sanitation and adherence to HACCP principles.Responsibilities:Assistant to and direct backup for FSQA ManagerDirectly supervises FSQA technicians and coordinates their activities with assistance from FSQA ManagerResponsible for ensuring implementation of SQF Program protocols and standards.Works with FSQA Manager to help maintain HACCP program and all records associated with it, including the monitoring of the CCPs.Ensures all records and proper documents for SQF, HACCP and all pre-requisite programs are properly organized and maintained.Follows up on any maintenance requests that are generatedDocuments all sanitation requests that are needed. Oversees the sanitation of the facility and is responsible for ensuring proper sanitation protocols are followed to ensure a clean facility every day.Responsible for performing pre-operational and operational inspections.Responsible for chemical titrations to ensure teracts with USDA on any NRs and any other concerns of the inspectors.Responsible for Internal pest control program supplementing the outside pest control programCoordinates internal audits (GMP, glass and brittle plastic). Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in a biological science with 3+ years' experience in a USDA RTE facilityMinimum 2 years of supervisory experienceHACCP certifiedCompetencies:Ability to make decisions without guidanceAbility to multi-taskMust have excellent problem-solving abilitiesMust have excellent customer service skillsMust have excellent computer skillsMust have excellent communication skillsMust be able to read and comprehend regulations, correspondence, instructions, rules and regulations as well as fill out forms and write reportsWorking ConditionsFrequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of timeMaintaining composure in dealing with authorities, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing.Required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.Handling and being exposed to sensitive and confidential information.Responding on an on-call basis to emergencies and incidents at all hours. May be exposed to stressful situations.May be required to work additional hoursovertime without advance notice.Seeing, hearing and speaking clearly in order to communicate effectively.Occasional lifting andor moving up to fifty (50) pounds unassisted.This position is for 1st shift, Monday through Friday
