Manufacturing Engineer [28706]

Note: Only candidates who are eligible to obtain a Secret level security clearance, or who currently hold an active Secret level security clearance or greater, will be considered.As part of the eligibility requirements for obtaining a security clearance include being a U.S. Citizen, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.• Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.• Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data, and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.• Createedit models and drawings using SolidWorks.• Createedit routings, work cells, and BOM's using SAP software.• Design various fixtures for process improvements.• Review engineering drawings for manufacturability; review Engineering Change Orders.• Partner with design engineering to provide input in the manufacturability of product and drive through production.• Create and optimize work cells and shop floor utilizing LEAN principals, tools, and methods.• Adhere to company practices and ISO processes.• Interpret specific system and product design requirements which ensure conformance to functional, customer, and operationsmanufacturing criteria.• Interface internally with all facility associates, management, and staff.• Interface externally with customers andor vendors for the purpose of furnishing, obtaining andor clarifying information.• Provide engineering programproject technical support to both internal and external customers.• Communicates clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel, the customer, and vendors as required.• Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization• Adheres to all quality and safety standards• Supports other projects and performs duties as assignedSecondary Duties and Responsibilities• May participate in cross-functional team and work groupsSupervisory Responsibilities• Does not supervise others, but may at times offer assistance and guidance to interns.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility listed above satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Experience Knowledge Skills Abilities• Must be able to speak, read and understand English• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial EngineeringTechnology, or similar.• 3-5 years' experience in similar technical role.• Military defense experience preferred.• Product development experience- concept through production release.• Demonstrated experience with work cell layout and production line setup.• Experience in a sheet metal and metal fabrication production environment using primarily steel and aluminum alloy; structural shapes and extrusions.• Experience with metal fabrication equipment and welding processes, metal prep, and finishing processes.• Experience designing weld fixtures and other assembly improvement fixtures.• Experience in DFMA analysis, time study, and test reports preferred.• Effective oral and written communication skills.• Good interpersonal skills.• Routinely punctual.• Mechanically inclined and able to problem solve with little information.• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize work assignments, and multi-task to meet deadlines.• Ability to offer their own opinions and commentaries while being flexible and responsive to constructive feedback by managers and peers.• Application of technical principlestechniques from established practices, as well as a functional knowledgeunderstanding of mechanical engineering processes, techniques, and practices to quicklyaccurately perceive the fit, form, function, and manufacturability of design.• SolidWorks experience required; SW certification a plus, AutoCAD experience helpful.• Solidworks Camworks experience a plus.• Robotic Welding experience a plus.• SAP experience a plus.• LEAN Six Sigma certification a plus.• PC-based computer experience including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential; SAP experience a plus.• Basic knowledgeunderstanding of industry standards (ISO, etc.) and codes.• Strong, proven organizational and time management skills.• Strong, proven problem solving and analytical skills.• Possesses quality orientation and high attention to detail• Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the company• Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
