Ability to speak effectively in one on one and group situations.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference as well as apply basic mathematics principles.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Good understanding of ISO, SPC and QS systemsProficient in Microsoft officeMajor Accountabilities:Supervise the activities of tool and die makers in performing the following tasks as well as personally performing them.Plan and schedule all tool room Jobs as per timeline.Schedule ordering of tooling components and supplies.Plan tool room equipment maintenance.Quoting, designing, troubleshooting and development as required.Staff and evaluate tool room employees.Resolve issues with other managers such as press time, sign off, shared equipment etc.Responsible for scheduling and tracking tool build requirements.Monitor costs as an aid for estimating.Arrange and monitor external contracting.Responsible for arranging tryout material from customer.Responsible for arranging die buyoff in customer's press.Represent company during buyoff process.Schedule meetings with lead handstoolmakers on monthly basis.Follow the preventive maintenance procedures by working with the maintenance department.Generate reports on: Planning and scheduling, Job tracking and die check listApprove hourly employee's time entriesKeep GM informed of all items pertinent to successful operation of their department.Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed in order to accommodate the customer.Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment andor tools immediately to all appropriate departmentsRecord andor report product damagenonconformities to your supervisor as requiredAbide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee HandbookDecision Making & AuthorityTooling stop production when Quality is in questionDelegation of tasks amongst departmentPerformance Management; progressive discipline and performance appraisalsSafety and efficiencyOversee department of approximately 20 peopleWork Conditions:20% office, 80% plant floor (PPE required)BenefitsWorking in a great team environmentMedical, Dental and Vision InsuranceSafety shoe and prescription safety glasses reimbursementSupplier discountsTuition reimbursement and training opportunities
