Job PurposeTo harmoniously coordinate the activities and resources of the shipyard to complete individual projects in a cost effective and efficient manner, while maintaining schedule and minimizing conflict with other shipyard operations and projects.Reports to: NY Sr. PMClassification: ExemptSupervisory Responsibility: NoneResponsibilities and Duties:These shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:Coordinate internal resources and third partiesvendors for the flawless execution of projectsProactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budgetAssist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibilityEnsure resource availability and allocationDevelop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress to be shared with clients in addition to other stakeholdersManage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniquesResponsible for collaboration and communication with various teams as neededMeasure project performance using appropriate tools and techniquesReport progress, including any changes made to plans and production and escalate to management as neededManage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders including third partiesvendorsPerform risk assessment to minimize and manage project risksCreate and maintain comprehensive project documentationMeet with clients to clarify specific requirements of each projectDelegate project tasks based on skill sets and experience levelsTrack project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goalsMeet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysisUse and continually develop leadership skillsReview billing and invoices for accuracyDevelop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needsEnsure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issuesPerform other related duties as assignedRequirements:Excellent client-facing and internal communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSolid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skillsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeFinancial Management experience including basic accountingDeveloping and Tracking BudgetsSupervision and StaffingNegotiate and manage statement of work and contracts with external vendorsProcess ImprovementPlanning and schedulingPerformance ManagementSubcontractorVendor ManagementMaterial and Inventory Control and procurementIn-depth understanding of construction procedures and materials managementFamiliarity with quality assurance processesFamiliarity with occupational health and safety standardsFamiliarity with constructionproject management softwareExcellent organizational and time-management skillsA team player with leadership abilitiesMinimum EducationBachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of five (5) years relevant trade experience within the marine industry OR High School diploma with a minimum of ten (10) years relevant trade experience within the marine industry.Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification a plusWork Environment Summary:Applicant may be subject to environmental conditions such as cold, heat, exposure to noise, hazards, and confined spacesclose quarters.
