Role: Construction Senior EstimatorSalary: $150,000 - $200,000Company: NYC based General ContractorConstruction ManagerAbout the Role:This position is responsible for preparing cost estimates for construction projects, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service. May specialize according to particular service performed or type of product manufactured.What you'll do:Perform detailed quantity take-offs to determine accurate scope of work; organize the quantities with unit pricing in production of an estimateReview and estimatebudget scope of work based on drawing & construction documentsObtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating priceResponsible for calculating labor, material and all other costs associated with a projectCreate and submit proposals to Clients within the specified timeframeResponsible for managing and prioritizing multiple estimatesprojectsPrepare and issue RFI's based on construction drawingsResponsible for creating and giving presentations to the Clients & Client RepsPrepare and maintain AIA contracts and contract documentationCreate and execute sub contractsDevelop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendorsResponsible for building full conceptual cost estimates from architectural sketchesschematicsExperience in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs for the Owner while maintaining a high level of construction qualityMust be able to confidently negotiate throughout the bidding processEducation and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Construction Engineering or similar (Preferred but not required)7+ years estimator experience in the construction industryRequired Abilities and Skills:Strong proficiency in reading and understanding plans and specificationsMust demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skillsTeam player with a positive attitude who can also work independently, is self-motivated and success driven, yet able and willing to take direction.Exceptional problem solving, organizational, and time management skills with a high level of attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and aggressive deadlinesKnowledge of On-ScreenOn Center Take-Off, Computer Ease, Procore, Building Connected, InDesign a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and WordJob Type:Full-time in office.
