Title: Mechanical EngineerLocation: Peoria, ILDuration: Long Term Must Haves:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering(3-5) years' experience designing wheel motors for off-highway vehicles.Proficient in Drive Systems, such as gearing or axles or motors or will motors, transmission or torque's or battery integration or R&D, or simulation, or FEA, or hydraulicsHands on experience working with CAD software such as AutoCAD or CreoStrong background in gearing and bearing conceptsKnowledge of motor control systems and power electronicsExcellent communication skills and eagerness to be a part of the team and work collaboratively with one anotherAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and training Plusses:Hands on experience building and repairing motors Day-to-Day Responsibilities:The Off-Highway Wheel Motor Engineer typically works on the design, development, and testing of wheel motors used in off-highway vehicles such as construction equipment, agricultural machinery, and mining trucks. Here's a general overview of Design and Development:Utilize CAD software to create detailed design specifications and drawings.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and cost requirements.Testing and Validation:Conduct simulations and physical tests to validate motor performance.Analyze test data and make necessary design adjustments.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Project Management:Manage project timelines and deliverables.Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to source components.Oversee the production and assembly of prototypes.Technical Support:Provide technical support to manufacturing and service teams.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to wheel motor performance.Prepare technical documentation and reports.
