Core Technical Skills & Expertise:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related engineering field.Expertise in solid rocket motor design, with a strong emphasis on grain geometry and propellant compound formulation.Familiarity with CAD modeling, simulations, and fundamental calculations for propulsion system development.Experience developing, refining, and validating complex propulsion material applications.Understanding of regulatory and safety standards related to rocket propulsion and high-energy materials.Application Development & Testing:Ability to lead application development from initial concept through testing and customer validation.Experience formulating and optimizing propellant compounds for targeted performance criteria.Skilled in designing and executing test plans to validate system performance and ensure compliance.Proficiency in analyzing test data to refine designs and improve manufacturing processes.Technology & Innovation:Willingness to master and integrate advanced 3D printing technologies in propulsion material manufacturing.Hands-on experience with prototyping, production, and process development for solid rocket motors.Capability to leverage proprietary manufacturing techniques for improved performance and efficiency.Collaboration & Customer Engagement:Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including machine and material development engineers.Direct engagement with customers to gather requirements, offer technical guidance, and demonstrate system capabilities.Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage technical discussions effectively.Travel & Compliance:Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, primarily to testing labs and customer sites.US citizenship or permanent resident status required.Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Skills):(Master'sPhD) in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.Experience in the aerospace or defense industry, particularly in propulsion systems or high-energy material applications.Hands-on expertise with 3D printing applications for propulsion technology.US government security clearance.A track record of innovation, problem-solving, and driving technological advancements in solid rocket motor engineering.This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in high-impact environments, enjoys pioneering new technologies, and is eager to shape the future of solid rocket propulsion manufacturing.
