The Allocation Manager is responsible to direct, manage and monitor the execution of product allocation and replenishment processes to support company strategy and achieve inventory objectives by store and to manage, develop and train Allocators.DutiesResponsibilities:Oversees the use of the Allocation tools by Allocators and ensures the development and use of standardized best practices when performing allocations.Sets and monitors productivity standards and service level performance of the department, in conjunction with the Merchants and the Director of Planning.Establishes model stocks by department by store to optimize floor space and shoe stock room.Surfaces business opportunities to increase Sales and inventory productivity in collaboration with Planners and Merchants.Understands and oversees execution of allocation strategy by division.ParticipatesLeads weeklymonthly assortmentallocation strategy session with respective buying team.Monitors allocation effectiveness by reviewing store reports, including BI and MA and creating strategies to address issues.Assists with the resolution of receiver issues with Supply Chain and DC teams.Works with technical resources to enhance use of Analytics tool and its effectiveness.Leads team in recommending potential allocation systems and process enhancements.Visits DTLR stores to validate inventory looks in line with reports and understand improvement opportunities for allocation.Continually trains and develops Allocators to increase allocation and analytical skills.Sets, develops and influences Allocation Best Practices.Establishes an environment that encourages and challenges individuals to grow to become more influential, establish high standards and accept responsibility.Creates agreed upon development goals and works with direct reports to achieve milestones.Create a strong partnership with Buying and Planning to achieve financial objectives.Maintains effective working relationship with Supply Chain and DC teams.Considers individual, division, and total company goals when making decisions.Listens to others, act as a team player.Performs ad hoc analysis as needed.Other duties as assignedRequired SkillsAbilities: Work requires a solid knowledge of business and an excellent command of the English language to effectively communicate with management, associates and customers.Must have strong merchandising, product and analytical skills.Must demonstrate an ability to think strategically, plan and organize effectively.Must be able to maintain an exemplary degree of professionalism in all situations.General knowledge of retail math literacy and application of concepts to daily operations.Requires a proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports.Results driven with demonstrated critical and creative thinking skills. Project management, time management, analytical and superior organizational skills required.Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.Proven ability to plan, organize, multi-task, set priorities effectively and efficiently to proactively respond to changing demands, from multiple sources.The ability to execute directives with precision and consistency.Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.Strong PC proficiency with a strong emphasis in ExcelEducation and Experience:4-year college degree required1-3 years' management experience5-10 years of merchandise planning experiencePhysical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand throughout the day. The employee must frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk; or hear.The employee must occasionally lift andor move up to 25 pounds.
