Full Stack Engineer

OverviewAt ProTrainings, we work to continually improve our customer's experience in a Product Led culture. Our Full Stack Developers are key players in building and maintaining our innovative training platform, working at the intersection of traditional web development and emerging AI technologies. They work closely with product and design teams to experiment and deliver software that drives our business forward, while thoughtfully incorporating AI to enhance both our development process and learning outcomes.The role involves building robust web applications using Ruby on Rails, leveraging modern Rails features like Hotwire (Turbo and Stimulus), alongside HTML5, JavaScript, and Tailwind CSS. You'll also work on integrating and developing AI-powered features to personalize learning experiences and automate administrative tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing feature requests, resolving bugs, and contributing to both team and independent efforts across the entire application stack.Our Full Stack Developers stay current with technology trends through reading books, attending conferences, listening to podcasts, and experimenting with new technologies, particularly in the Rails ecosystem.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain full-stack features using Ruby on Rails, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and maintainable across both front and back endArchitect and implement AI-enhanced learning features, database schemas, APIs, and business logic while maintaining clean, testable codeBuild responsive, accessible front-end interfaces using modern Rails techniques like Hotwire and TurboOptimize application performance through database tuning, caching strategies, and front-end optimizationsMentor, collaborate, and support teammates and contractors as necessaryLead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions that shape our platform's futureKey SkillsStrong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, including modern features like Hotwire, Turbo, and StimulusSolid understanding of relational databases, SQL optimization, and ActiveRecordExperience with modern JavaScript (ES6+), CSS, and Tailwind CSSFamiliarity with background job processing, caching strategies, and API designKnowledge of testing practices (RSpec, Capybara, etc.) and CICD pipelinesStrong system design and architectural planning capabilitiesEffective communication within and between teamsAnalytical, critical thinking and an attention to detailPreferred Experience4+ years developing and deploying full-stack web applications3+ years working with Ruby on Rails in a production environmentExperience with e-commerce platforms (B2B and B2C)Background in educational technology or online learning platformsUnderstanding of SaaS architecture patterns and best practicesExperience with K8, Digital Ocean, or similar cloud infrastructureAbout ProTrainingsProTrainings is a purpose-driven small business dedicated to making life-saving training accessible and engaging.
