We're seeking a dynamic and experienced EHS leader to be the subject matter expert and drive a culture of excellence at a leading medical device manufacturing facility in Custer County, NE. In this vital role, you'll be the driving force behind our client's commitment to providing a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace for all associates. You will strategically develop, implement, and continuously improve the EHS programs, ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulations and internal standards. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on the well-being of the team and the environment, while contributing to the success of a growing organization.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Vision & Program Development: Design, implement, and lead comprehensive EHS programs that promote a proactive safety culture, minimize environmental impact, and prioritize associate health. Develop strategies for behavior-based safety, risk assessment, hazard identification, environmental sustainability, and overall wellness.Leadership & Influence: Provide expert guidance and support to the site Leadership Team on EHS strategic objectives, regulatory compliance, and best practices. Champion a culture of safety ownership at all levels of the organization.Continuous Improvement: Monitor the effectiveness of existing safety systems and programs, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative solutions to enhance performance. Serve as a catalyst for continuous improvement in all aspects of EHS.Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including supervisors, facilitators, and hourly workforce, to identify and address potential hazards, implement corrective actions, and foster a collaborative safety culture.Training & Development: Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to the Safety Core Team, business unit teams, and other key stakeholders. Develop and deliver engaging training programs that empower associates to take ownership of their safety and the pliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal standards. Oversee the development and submission of accurate and timely reports to regulatory agencies and corporate EHS.Risk Management: Direct and coordinate comprehensive risk management programs, including Job Safety Analysis, Hazard Assessment, Physical Capacity Profiles, Hearing Conservation, Industrial Hygiene sampling, fire protection, and LockoutTagout (LOTO).Incident Investigation & Prevention: Lead thorough incident investigations to identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.EHS Audits: Manage internal EHS audits, track findings, and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.PPE Management: Oversee the selection, provision, and maintenance of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for all associates.Environmental Stewardship: Manage environmental programs, including waste management, air emissions, and water conservation.Stay Current: Remain up-to-date on all relevant EHS regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends.What You'll Need to Succeed:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).Relevant professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH) is highly desirable.Minimum of 2 years of EHS management experience, with 4+ years preferred, in a manufacturing -depth knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and other relevant EHS regulations.Proven ability to develop and implement effective EHS programs.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.Experience in a team-based environment.Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.Key Competencies:LeadershipStrategic ThinkingCommunication & Interpersonal SkillsProblem SolvingSystem ImplementationTechnical ExpertiseTeamwork & CollaborationResults OrientationInfluence
