Our guiding principles of safety, servant leadership, customer service, and personal and professional growth will foster and empower you with hands-on field experience to learn the fundamentals of our team.Three days in the office and two days remoteHours are 8am to 5pmThis is internship is PAID at $29hr.25-50% travel10 week summer internship starting June 2nd and concluding August 8thJob Description: The role of the Process and IMS Engineering summer intern role is a combination of duties of the IMS engineering role and the efficiency engineering role. The goal of this role is to provide the candidate with meaningful work experience in the field and in the corporate office environment. They will have the opportunity to work with subject matter experts in audits, troubleshooting, optimization, and project management. There will be approximately 25% - 50% travel to sites where IMS or Efficiency projects are underway. Responsibilities:Improve and maintain the efficiency and production capacity of Airgas Merchant Gases (AMG) production facilities. These facilities include Cryogenic ASUs, VSAs, Liquid CO2 plants, Hydrogen Liquefiers and H2 SMRs across the United States. This will be achieved by working with our team of subject matter experts to evaluate and especially optimize our plants during planned optimization visits.Participate in efficiency assessments of AMG facilities working in tandem with our team. Use these assessments to develop reports and action items based on findings. Perform Engineering Feasibility analysis and cost benefit analysis for opportunities to acquire capital funding for projects identified in efficiency audits. An example of this would be adding a LIN assist pump or gas recovery blower to a site to improve efficiency or product recovery. Use data analytics to improve accuracy of our industrial reporting. Review existing performance evaluation models are representative of real world plant performanceDevelop projects similar in scale and scope specifying replacement LOX pumps and redesigning the associated piping to reduce stress, replacing a flat bottom tank vent valve and improving associated trip action, or adding and installing an analyzer at a facility. Ideally one project of an appropriate size will be completed start to finish within the 2-3 month role. Participate in IMS audits, specifically around GT-PR-COM-019 for coldbox integrity or GT-PR-COM-028 Warm End Cold Embrittlement. Participate in the creation, update and review of P&IDs, MOCs and SOPs related to meeting IMS standards. Develop knowledge of Codes and Standards, as well as generally accepted Good Engineering Practice, for design, sizing, and operation of Chemical production facilitiesEnsure data and information related to the IMS process performance are collected, analyzed and evaluated, and reviewed during management review meetings.
