Required Skills & Experience:10+ years of hardware and electronic engineering experience 5+ years of specific experience with networking hardware including routers and switchesBroad experience with power issues, signal integrity issues, and high-speed signals in networkingProficiency with tools such as oscilloscopes, power meters, and soldering equipmentBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Nice to Have Skills & Experience:Ability to install software, including Linux, and proficiency in Python scriptingMaster's degree preferredOverview:As a Lead Hardware Design Engineer at a hardware designmanufacturing company, you will primarily focus on hardware used for network routers and switches. Your role involves extensive debugging activities as you will be supporting the product life cycle of existing products. In addition to your engineering responsibilities, you will also take on the role of a lab manager. Lab manager duties will occupy no more than 10% of your time and will include maintaining the lab facilities, installing equipment, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. The majority of your time will be spent in the lab, managing customer-related activities. This position is at times customer-facing and may require up to 25% travel to visit customer sites on an as-needed basis to clients in the Bay Area.Responsibilities:Analyze, Troubleshoot and Resolve technical issues reported by customersReview and interpret customer requirements and specifications and may act as primary customer contactAnalyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutionsDesign, modify and implement systems that meet customer needs E.g. Creation of schematics, Bills of material, Technical documents, , etc.Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulationsSolve complex problemsLiaison with vendors, customers, and other internal teamsAnalyze and interpret data and informationManage hardware lab. and equipmentIf needed, you will provide backup support for other tasks. Compensation:$100-125k per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
