It's got to be you! A growing technology company in an exciting, hot space (literally), is hiring a Business Development Director. We are conducting the search on their behalf. The depth of experience isn't as important as willingness to be open to learning, a collaborative team player, customer centric and energized to create results.Problem Space: The generative AI boom has turned the challenges of computing performance and energy efficiency into huge issues for data center, CPUs and high-performance computing (HPC). Faster chips mean more power and energy demands, resulting in more heat generation and possible performance comprises.This startup (now an emerging revenue generating company), specializes in disruptive thermal management solutions for High-Performance Computing (HPC). Their patented solution provides precise thermal management, where and when needed, and preserves the planet versus inefficient blanket cooling. This reduces server operating costs but, more importantly, increases the computational power and output of each chip. Less cost, more output!Position OverviewThe Business Development Director will be pivotal in identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding the company's market presence in the AI Infrastructure - datacenter, chip space. The role requires a blend of technical understanding and sales acumen to drive growth in a rapidly evolving innovation landscape. Networking, developing relationships, building trust and face-to face interactions will play a big role. You need to love and take pride in your work and the team, thrive on building and delivering results. It's a multicultural company with existing business development in Europe. This role will focus on North America. (Currently, 30 employees).The right candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of successful business development or sales management experience, excited about frontier technology and be that pioneer with an entrepreneurial spirit. From customers to partners and colleagues, help model operational excellence in a fast-paced, dynamic, innovative company.Key Responsibilities· Ability to identify and develop business opportunities that expand market presence. drive long-term growth and increase profitability.· Build and execute business development strategies that drive revenue growth and create profitable customer relationships, partnerships, and collaborations in a high intensity startup environment.· Gain deep knowledge of the company's offerings in AI Infrastructure, semiconductor, and thermal management.· Conduct competitive analyses and market research to identify opportunities and trends.· Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and events to network, increase brand visibility, network with key stakeholders, and explore new business avenues.· Lead in proposal development, presentations, and contract negotiations.· Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals for internal and external audiences.· Manage CRM tools and ensure the tracking and reporting of business development activities.· Facilitate communication and coordination among geographically dispersed teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment on business goals.· Work in tandem with product management and engineering teams to ensure product-market fit and support go-to-market strategies that result in the successful execution and maximize product adoption and satisfaction.· Create strategic partnerships and negotiate and manage partnerships to ensure mutual growth and success.· Report regularly to the executive team and board on growth metrics, market opportunities, and performance against business development targets.Qualifications· Track record of 5+ successful years in business development, sales, or related roles and ideally with a focus on technology sectors like semiconductors or data centers, but not crucial.· Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to business development.· Excellent relationship-building skills with a knack for fostering long-term partnerships.· Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while managing details.· Strong negotiation skills and communication and presentation abilities.· Proven track record of hitting and exceeding quota targets and managing complex sales cycles.· Ability to work in a dynamic growing startup environment that adapts to evolving market needs.· Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and strategic approach to business development & overcoming challenges.· Bachelor's degree in business, finance, computer science or related field; MBA or equivalent· Proven experience in business development or sales ideally in startups or high-growth environments or a mix of big company and startup experiences is ideal but not required. It's a high growth startup (6 years old).Must be eligible to work in the USA.
