Title: Construction TechnicianDuration: 6-month contract-to-hireHours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, occasional Saturday'searly morning work in summers.OT: Unlimited overtimeOpenings: 1PR: $18-24hrLocation: Albany, NYDay to Day:Insight Global is looking for Materials Engineering Technicians for a large engineering consulting firm in Albany, NY. The ideal candidate will perform regular testing, observation, and inspection of construction projects. They will communicate about the project site and project requirements with the PM, other engineering technicians, and the client. Each day, they will go to the office to meet with their manager, go to the job site, perform necessary responsibilities for the client; check-in with the PM with testing results; and contact dispatcher for another assignment or go home if work is complete. They will work on a single project site or go from project to project with 1-2 hours of the office (given company vehicle for commutepaid for time in car). They will monitor fill placements, soil placements, work with concrete cylinders, and test concrete as it's placed. They will also transport material samples for further testing and analysis, and complete appropriate laboratory data entry. At the end of each day, they will complete a digital report of their findings. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, maintain and clean equipment, and adhere to strict safety standards. A valid driver's license with minimal infractions is required as candidate's will be driving a company vehicle to the office and job site.
