Position: Technical Support TechnicianDuration: 6+ months - Possible ExtensionLocation: New Carlisle, INPay Range: $20-$25hr on W2 (As per experience) Job Description:The client is looking for an Infrastructure Delivery Install Technician. Our Infrastructure team is responsible for the day-to-day installation of servers and network equipment, structured cabling, project work, and capacity management. This technician will also be involved with the installation of structured cabling, management of infrastructure inventory levels, and physical installation of network and server racks andor devices. This position requires the successful candidate to report to a site location. You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network. You will launch cutting-edge server technologies and solve diverse networking impairments. You will quickly and accurately assess a wide range of infrastructure issues, which requires a good understanding of computers, servers, switches, and various networking devices from both a hardware and software perspective and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology. To be successful in this role you should possess technical aptitude, written and oral communications skills, and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations. In addition, you must possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability. You will be able to leverage your experience by exercising high levels of initiative, judgment, and diplomacy. Key job responsibilities:Partner with cable vendors to install, inspect, and troubleshoot cabling Installation and maintenance of copper and Fiber cable infrastructure Install, test and troubleshoot Fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cordsEnsure that the Data Center and vendor installations comply with all installation practicesReport current status via ticketing system, status reports, email, and slackManage work and priorities through a ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projectsMaintain accurate records and document problems and processes to successfully draft and execute changes within data centersExhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain site cleanlinessWork with a partner to move integrated enterprise equipment from loading docks into planned positionsManage, check, and coordinate all materials to be delivered to the site dailyCarry a cell phone for communication, information, and emergenciesUp to 50% travel within geographical work area may be required - within the state (across the highway).Will need to have transportation to go from site to site as needed. Qualifications:Minimum years of experience: Minimum years of experience 1 year in cabling or optic experience.Working in a data center previously would be a plus.Required Skills: SM and MM Fiber, computer hardware experience is a plus.All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations:Walk job sites in uneven terrainWork safely at heights and from laddersAbility to work on your feet conducting site walks and installation tasks for the entirety of an 8-hour shift.Regularly lift andor move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41 pounds or moreAbility to work in an environment that operates 247 with an ability to participate in after-hours support as neededWork that will not get completed without this resource(s): Machine Learning and Rack installation will not get completed
