The Territory Sales Representative will represent employer in local trading area selling Hill & Markes, Inc. distributed products and services to assigned accounts by performing the duties and expected standards of achievement. This is a remote position - candidates must be located in New York's Hudson Valley.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources Proactively pursues new business by opening up new accounts and by introducing new products to existing accountsResponsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and profit municates regularly with sales manager on sales target status and requests support as neededInforms management of current market conditions and competitive changes in the marketplaceKeeps adequate sales records and materials necessary to make professional sales presentationsMaintains a strong working product knowledge, current product literature, and selling skillsDisplays or demonstrates products, using samples or catalogs, and emphasizes saleable featuresAssists in accounts receivable collectionsCommunicates with the purchasing department to coordinate customer product quotes, special requests, new items, forecasting, etc.Works with Sales Support staff for customer support with special orders, emergency deliveries, literature needs, samples, vendor info, teracts with Contract Sales Department staff on price managed accountsDevelops and maintains positive relationship with customerEstablishes and maintains a profitable customer base of assigned customer accounts in conjunction with Sales ManagerMatches customer needs with productsInvestigates and resolves customer problems with orders, deliveries, payablesUtilizes technology to provide documentation and reports as requiredMaintains customer accounts at the discretion of the CompanyAttends sales meetings, seminars, company offered training, and other designated meetings, and works with vendor representatives as directed by Sales ManagerAttends trade show presenting a professional and orderly image at all times; encourages attendance from customers and assists with showcases vendor productsMaintains a valid driver's license and an appropriate business vehicle with insuranceResponsible for all Company-owned Property and retains confidentiality with proprietary materialsUnderstands and adheres to Company's Safety policies and proceduresPerforms additional duties as assigned by supervisor or other managementDesired Skills & Experience:Strong presentation, communication, organization, and time management skillsTechnology proficientPrior experience in outside salesAttributes:Self drivenResults OrientedStrong planning, organization, and execution skillsHigh attention to detailStrong written and oral communication skillsGood time management skillsSelf-motivated; ability to work well with minimal supervisionEducationCollege degree in business, sales, or marketing a plus.
