With headquarters in Totowa, New Jersey, Cibo Vita employs over 900 individuals.Role DescriptionSummary:The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Quality Control department within a manufacturing environment, ensuring adherence to established quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role involves supervising a team of Quality Control Inspectors, managing quality control processes, analyzing data, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with other departments to maintain the highest quality and safety standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of quality control principles, and a commitment to fostering a culture of quality. Must have Packaging experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Supervision and Team Leadership: Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of Quality Control Inspectors. Assign tasks, monitor workload, and provide guidance to ensure efficient and effective execution of quality control activities.Quality Control Process Management: Oversee all aspects of the quality control process, from incoming material inspection to finished goods release. Ensure that all inspections, tests, and documentation are performed according to established procedures and regulatory requirements.Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze quality control data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement. Prepare reports on key quality metrics and communicate findings to management.Non-Conforming MaterialProduct Control: Manage the control and disposition of non-conforming materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Oversee the investigation of non-conformances, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).Equipment Calibration and Maintenance: Ensure that all quality control testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained. Oversee the calibration schedule and maintain accurate calibration records.Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Control department. Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce defects, and enhance quality. Participate in cross-functional teams to implement quality improvements.GMP and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all quality control activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA regulations (if applicable), ISO standards (if applicable), and other relevant regulatory requirements.Documentation and Record Keeping: Oversee the maintenance of accurate and complete quality control records, including inspection reports, test results, calibration records, and non-conformance reports.Auditing: Ensure we are ready for all internal and external audits of quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. Participate in external audits as needed.Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with production personnel, supervisors, and other departments to address quality issues and ensure timely resolution. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding quality-related matters.Training: Develop and deliver training programs for Quality Control Inspectors on quality control procedures, testing methods, and regulatory requirements. Ensure that all team members are up-to-date on changes in quality standards and industry best practices.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with equivalent experience considered.Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a quality control role within a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 years in a supervisory capacity. Food processing experience preferred.Strong understanding of quality control principles, techniques, and tools.Familiarity with GMP, FDA regulations (if applicable), ISO standards (if applicable), and other relevant regulatory requirements.Proficiency in using quality control testing equipment and measuring instruments.Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Ability to lift and carry up to [Weight] lbs and stand for extended periods.Preferred Qualifications:Certification in quality control (e.g., CQE, CQA).Experience with statistical process control (SPC).Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).Working Conditions:Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and potential allergens.May require working different shifts, including weekends and overtime, as needed.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.Ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate tools and equipment.Visual acuity to inspect products and identify defects.Ability to lift and carry up to [Weight] lbs.
