Position Overview:We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - RF & Antenna Systems (Technical Lead) to design and develop RF and antenna solutions for electronic devices and systems while also providing technical leadership to a team of electrical engineers with diverse skill sets and experience levels. This role is responsible for mentoring engineers, guiding technical decisions, and serving as the primary interface between the team and senior management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general electrical engineering with hands-on experience in RF circuit design, antenna integration, and wireless communication systems, combined with strong leadership and communication skills.Key Responsibilities:Technical Leadership & Team CollaborationProvide technical mentorship and guidance to a team of electrical engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.Lead design reviews, technical discussions, and troubleshooting sessions, ensuring best practices are followed in power management design.Act as the primary technical liaison between the engineering team and senior management, effectively communicating project progress, risks, and key technical decisions.Establish and enforce design standards, methodologies, and best practices within the team.Support cross-functional collaboration by working closely with mechanical, firmware, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of power management solutions.Assist in workload distribution, prioritization of tasks, and problem resolution to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.Provide technical oversight on key projects, ensuring designs align with performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.Provide a technical voice from MPC to customers, suppliers, vendors, etc.General Electrical Engineering ResponsibilitiesLead circuit design and PCB layout efforts, ensuring proper high-speed and RF design techniques.Develop analog and digital electronic circuits for wireless communication and embedded systems.Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of RF and non-RF components.Troubleshoot and debug RF and electrical issues at the system and board level.Conduct design reviews and mentor junior engineers to promote best practices in RF and general electrical design.RF & Antenna Design & IntegrationDesign and integrate RF circuits, antennas, and wireless communication systems into electronic products.Perform RF system analysis, including link budget calculations, impedance matching, and signal integrity analysis.Select and integrate off-the-shelf antennas or design custom antennas based on system requirements.Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure proper antenna placement and minimize interference.Work on RF shielding, filtering, and EMIEMC mitigation techniques to ensure regulatory compliance.Testing, Validation & ComplianceDevelop and execute test plans for RF performance verification, including lab testing with network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.Validate and optimize antenna efficiency, gain, radiation patterns, and impedance matching.Ensure compliance with relevant wireless communication standards (e.g., FCC, CE, etc.).Support environmental and reliability testing for RF and general electrical designs.Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field.5+ years of experience in RF circuit design, antenna integration, and general electrical engineering.Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, including impedance matching, transmission lines, S-parameters, and wave propagation.Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g., vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators).Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, KiCad), with experience in RF and high-speed PCB layout techniques.Familiarity with wireless communication protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, LTE, UWB, 5G).Experience with EMIEMC testing and mitigation strategies.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex RF and electrical issues.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings and present technical concepts clearly.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of RF power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers (LNA), and RF front-end modules.Background in defense, aerospace, IoT, automotive, or consumer electronics industries.Knowledge of mechanical design process and familiarity with MCAD tools (e.g. Solidworks, Creo, etc.).Basic firmware knowledge (Arduino, etc.) for rapid prototyping andor debugging of electronic hardware systems.
