We have a current opportunity for a Scientific Communications & Publications Coordinator on a contract basis. For further information about this position please apply. This is a fully remote role offering 20-25 hours pweek.The Scientific Communications & Publications Coordinator is a member of the Medical Affairs team, responsible for managing and leading the Medical Review Committee (MRC) and overseeing all aspects of scientific publications management. This role ensures the efficient review and approval of medical affairs materials while also coordinating publication planning, compliance, and execution in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Review Committee (MRC) ManagementOversee the end-to-end review process of medical affairs materials using Veeva Vault MedComms.Serve as the primary liaison between Medical, Legal, Regulatory, and external agencies to facilitate MRC operations.Ensure submission quality and compliance with company and regulatory guidelines before materials are circulated for review.Manage MRC meeting logistics, including agenda planning, calendar coordination, facilitation of discussions, and documentation of outcomes.Support material prioritization, expedite requests, and escalation processes in partnership with MRC team.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize MRC workflows and efficiency.Scientific Publications ManagementTrack and manage publication projects, ensuring alignment with the publication plan.Coordinate the development, review, and approval of manuscripts, abstracts, and posters, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.Maintain publication databases and assist in reporting, author coordination, and bibliography management.Support medical communication agency contracting, budget tracking, and compliance-related activities.Manage publication-related document flow, including journal submissions and independent manuscript reviews.Develop and maintain the publications site for Medical Affairs.QualificationsBABS degree required.5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical communications industry.Prior experience managing Medical Review Committee (MRC) operations.Proficiency with Veeva Vault MedComms required.Prior experience with publications management software preferred.Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders effectively.Attention to detail, ability to multitask, and a proactive mindset.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
