Automation EngineerWilson, NC Job Overview:This role involves specifying, procuring, and installing new equipment in an aseptic manufacturing facility. The engineer will also be responsible for reviewing designs for new equipment and modifying existing systems. Key responsibilities include managing equipment and facility projects from initiation to completion, determining change control requirements, ensuring pre-approval compliance, and supporting validation protocol execution. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with excellent project management abilities, including proficiency in MS Project. Experience in PLC and HMI programming is required. Compliance with cGMP and EU regulations must be maintained.Responsibilities:Lead and oversee site projects by leveraging experience, research, design concepts, sketches, layouts, and vendor collaboration. Develop specifications, consult with management and site personnel, and ensure project execution aligns with company objectives.Develop and implement Risk Analysis (FMEA, Fishbone Diagrams) and Critical Change Requests.Prepare and execute essential project documentation, including User Requirement Specifications, Functional Requirement Specifications, Design SpecificationsQualifications, Factory and Site Acceptance Tests, Machinability Studies, and Standard Operating Procedures for new and modified equipment.Prepare funding requests following corporate guidelines, including detailed project descriptions, justifications, financial analysis, estimates, quotations, and schedules.Oversee the installation of equipment and facility modifications, including vendor selection, procurement, scheduling, coordination, set-up, start-up, troubleshooting, debugging, training, and budgeting.Support Operations and Maintenance teams in problem-solving, process improvements, and cost reduction initiatives.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and customer expectations.Requirements:Strong background in electrical engineering.Experience working in a regulated industry.Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley andor Siemens) and HMI programming.Extensive knowledge of project management principles and experience using MS Project.Deep understanding of automation control and electrical systems.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience required. Equivalent related work experience will be considered in place of a degree.This is NOT a test or QA automation role and applications from C2C agencies will not be considered.
