VP of Sales - The Dink (An Upswing Sports, Inc. Portfolio Company)Upswing Sports, Inc. is seeking a VP of Sales to drive revenue growth and forge new brand partnerships for The Dink, our flagship media and events company dedicated to the fastest growing sport in the world, pickleball. This leadership role requires a seasoned sales professional with the ability to work independently, source and close deals, and navigate complex sales situations. This person will work directly with the CEO and management to drive revenue and fuel growth for the overall portfolio. You will handle strategic brand partnership opportunities across all owned digital, video, podcast and social channels, as well as events and experiential activations. We are seeking a highly strategic & consultative seller who can drive revenue and grow renewal business.The VP of Sales must be able to leverage their own client relationships to introduce The Dink to a wide suite of brands and advertisers. The candidate must possess strong quantitative & analytical skills and the ability to develop and connect with relevant cross-medium creative partnership concepts across digital media and events. We are looking for an autonomous, self-starter that can hit the ground running!ResponsibilitiesLead the identification and exploration of new revenue opportunities across The Dink's publishing channels and eventsIdentify and source leads for new partnerships and growth opportunitiesSell directly into our newsletters, podcasts and video, web publication, social channels, events and physical activationsOpen doors with agencies to build a network of relationships and establish a pipeline of RFPsEstablish collaborative business relationships between The Dink and Fortune 1000 companiesBuild and manage sales pipeline; manage and nurture brand partnershipsIdentify innovative ways to expand our content and experiential offerings to drive additional revenueDrive the company towards meeting and exceeding revenue targets while being accountable to sales and company goalsOperate beyond conventional sales norms, relentlessly pursuing opportunities to grow the businessProspect, build and scale new and renewal revenue for key strategic accounts focusing on driving multi-platform, multi-year programs across social, audio, web, newsletters and experientialBuild and establish prospecting and business development processes and procedures leverage cutting edge tactics, tools and best practices Ability to assess prospects' advertising and brand goals; construct robust, multi-platform sales pitches that address needs and deliver successful outcomesSkilled in working with client success and marketing teams to execute strategic advertising and media campaigns that meet and exceed KPIsIdeate and develop new content series, events and activations to foster brand growth and introduce new monetization opportunities and brand assets Requirements5+ years of experience in sales leadership roles within digital media or publishingExpert understanding of the digital media landscape, namely online publishing, podcasting, video and social mediaExperience selling into experiential and eventsAdept at building partnerships, negotiating, and closing deals with brands looking to advertise and activate in digital media and experientialExceptional communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levelsAn entrepreneurial mindset, able to thrive in unstructured environments and operate autonomouslyComfort with the possibility of moving into a Chief Revenue Officer role within a year, contingent on exceeding KPIs and revenue targetsExceptional communication and relationship building skillsStrong track record of success driving revenue through discovering, prospecting, creating new business and growing and retaining existing businessWell-organized, with strict attention to detail and proactive approach to problem solvingAbility to prospect at scale and drive high volume of sales leadsExtremely self-motivatedLocationNew York CityCompensationThis position offers a combination of salary, commission, and options in the companyAbout Upswing Sports and The DinkUpswing Sports is a portfolio of ventures related to racquet sports, with an emphasis on the fastest growing sport in the world, pickleball.
