Please note, by clicking Apply, you are requesting that a Talent Acquisition Team Member reach out to you regarding further application steps.Nature of WorkThe WIC Vendor Compliance Liaison is responsible for managing relationships with WIC Vendors (WIC-authorized grocery stores) and providing administrative coordination, development, and technical assistance related to fraud allegations, customer complaints, and compliance investigations (such as inventory audits and compliance buys). This role is a key component of the Office of Nutrition Services (ONS) Retailer and Farmer Management Division.Serving as a liaison, this position facilitates problem resolution and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local statutes, standards, and administrative regulations. The Liaison works closely with retail grocery store owners, operators, and managers conducting WIC transactions, as well as WIC customers and local WIC Agency Vendor Liaisons.Additionally, the WIC Vendor Compliance Liaison conducts covert visits to high-risk WIC vendors statewide, operating under an assumed identity to assess vendor practices. This includes performing WIC transactions and evaluating customer service practices, which may have significant legal implications. The Liaison also serves as a subject matter expert for the WIC Vendor Handbook and is responsible for maintaining the retailer and farmer sections of the ONS website.Minimum QualificationsTraining: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.Substitution: Additional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.Experience: Two (2) years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the area of employment.Substitution: Post-graduate education in a field related to the area of employment may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for one (1) year of experience.ORMaster's degree in social work from a regionally accredited social work program from a regionally accredited college or university.Note: Appointment above the entry rate may be made at 5% for each six (6) months of successfully completed work as an intern in a practicum placement with the Department of Health and Human Resources for the Master of Social Work degree.
