Director of Vendor Shared Services - Enterprise Applications LOCATION: Irving, TXWORK LOCATION: Hybrid: Onsite 2-4 days a week.Travel: up to 10% - 15% annual TravelJOB TYPE: Direct hireSALARY: Depending on Experience - Full package includes competitive base salary, bonus, and employee benefits.OVERVIEW Vaco is seeking a Director of Vendor Shared Services - Enterprise Applications for a direct hire opportunity for our client in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This strategic leadership role focuses on optimizing vendor relationships, standardizing vendor management processes, and driving operational excellence across enterprise IT platforms, data centers, and data governance. As the primary liaison between IT and vendors, you will implement structured feedback mechanisms to ensure vendor performance aligns with business objectives. This role requires expertise in vendor relationship management, contract negotiations, and enterprise IT governance, along with a strong background in projectprogram management, SDLC, and enterprise application management.The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing multiple initiatives while engaging with IT leadership. Experience in large-scale enterprise environments (10,000+ employees, 1,000+ vendors) is essential. A background in roles such as Program Manager, Principal Consultant, or Senior Program Manager is highly preferred. Additionally, experience in building and scaling new departments-either within a startup or a large organization-is a plus. This position is pivotal in establishing a Vendor Management Office (VMO) and ensuring its strategic impact and operational success.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESServe as the bridge between IT and external vendors, ensuring alignment with business objectives.Standardize vendor rate cards and establish performance approval processes.Develop an algorithmic vendor scoring system to assess and improve vendor performance.Lead the establishment of a Vendor PMO to streamline vendor governance across the company.Conduct a roadshow to introduce and integrate the new VMO across the company.Treat the VMO as an internal business unit, ensuring operational excellence and strategic impact.Identify key vendor partners that align with the Companies s long-term strategic goals.Implement structured feedback processes for vendor performance evaluations.Oversee Enterprise IT Platforms, Data Centers, Data, and Data Governance.Collaborate with internal business leaders to assess vendor relationships and performance.Review Statements of Work (SOWs) to identify potential risks and inefficiencies.Work closely with application teams to support enterprise IT program management initiatives.Assist in the establishment of a PMO, ensuring robust project management practices.Facilitate discussions with business leaders, leveraging strong consulting and negotiation fortable engaging with IT leadership.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.Proficient in enterprise application language.Experienced in vendor relationship management.Proactive in identifying and executing tasks.Oversight of Enterprise Application Vendors.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS10+ years of experience in IT Vendor Management, Program Management, or Enterprise IT Governance within large-scale enterprise environments.Extensive experience in senior projectprogram management roles.Strong understanding of enterprise applications, SDLC, IT governance, and compliance best practices.Proven expertise in vendor management, vendor relationship management, and contract negotiations.Experience overseeing enterprise IT platforms and data governance.Knowledge of application deployment and support models (Tier 1, 2, 3).Exceptional ability to manage chaos and engage with stakeholders effectively.Sharp, collaborative, and professional demeanor.Strong analytical skills for reviewing SOWs and assessing vendor agreements.The ability to establish compliance and vendor governance best practices.Not a procurement professional but well-versed in vendor contract management.Potential backgrounds: Program Manager, Principal Consultant, Senior Program Manager.Must have enterprise-level experience (10,000+ employees, 1,000+ vendors).Willingness to take initiative and stay engaged beyond the typical scope when necessary.Ability to take direction and think outside the box.Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related fieldNICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONSExperience in starting up departments (startup or within a large company).Certifications preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD) or Certified Supplier Management Professional (CSMP), ITIL Certification, Six Sigma or Lean certificationsIn our commitment to transparency throughout the hiring process, we provide a target annual base salary range of $165,000 - $215,000 + bonus for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) experience, work location, and skills.
