Vivid Technology is currently partnered with a global innovator in satellite communications and they are looking to hire a Principal Satellite Payload Engineer.This is a unique opportunity to work with a team of highly technical engineers and satellite manufacturers to develop and produce next generation satellite payload technology for NTN-LEO applications.This is a hands on engineering position, with high-level responsibility and authority. You will be leading the full life-cycle of three new groundbreaking projects. Responsibilities: Works with satellite manufacturers and internal engineers to ensure all satellite requirements are satisfied for proper operation within LEO systemsEstablishes and monitors objectives, specifications, and plans to ensure projects are executed effectivelyParticipates in design reviews and trade analysis for optimal performance and operation of the satellite and constellationRepresents employee in payload component selection and makebuy decisions to ensure vendor experience, quality, and ability to deliver meet requirementsAnalyzes satellite and constellation reliability by trading cost versus MTTF and performance versus user experienceOversees the satellite manufacturing plan and processes for high volume LEO satellite production including analysis of supply chain, assembly, and testBasic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering15+ years' of experience in engineering development of commercial communication systems5+ years' experience with LEO constellations including specification, design, manufacturing, launch, and operations5+ years' experience with reliability, particularly how it relates to component selection, manufacturing process, and test5+ years' experience with manufacturing and testing of ESAs5+ years' experience with Ka-band and S-band RF electronics5+ years' experience with terrestrial cellular including 3G4G5GAbility to travel periodically in North America and internationallyPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in electrical engineeringPrevious work with launch providersIf you are interested in this position, please apply here.
