AgZen is venture-backed, has raised over $3.5M of capital, and was awarded over $600K in prizes and awards from prestigious competitions like the MIT 100K and the Rice business plan competition.We are looking for a sharp, tenacious, and creative Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design, prototyping, testing and manufacturing efforts for AgZen's product pipeline. This role is at the intersection of electrical engineering, design, firmware development and manufacturing. The role will involve solving diverse, complex problems as a part of our world class engineering team, as well as working closely with contract manufacturers, external vendors and our customers.What you will do:Work with the Hardware team in architecting, designing, assembling and manufacturing electrical systems for AgZen's product portfolio.Productization of concepts and engineering designs - including implementation, manufacturability, vendor qualification, cost management and translating documents and instructions to CMs.Design custom PCBs for AgZen's product portfolio.Develop PCBA requirements and wiring diagrams in collaboration with other engineering team members and vendors suitable for manufacturing.Circuit analysis including power, tolerance, and reliability.PCBA design verification testing and system integration testing.Develop, test, maintain and launch component and system level firmware.Building prototypes, debugging and repairing test systems, and supporting products in field.About you:You are passionate, genuinely curious, and innovativeYou have unwavering personal integrity and work ethicYou are proactive, productive, and complete tasks promptlyYou excel in a team-centric environment that is transparent and accountableYou are passionate about building new technologies that integrate different fieldsYou are adaptable and excel working in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentQualifications:BS Degree in Electrical Engineering required, MS preferred.5+ years electrical and power electronics engineering experience.Custom PCB design experience (Ex: on Altium, KiCad, etc) from schematic entry and board layout through fabrication, assembly, testing, iteration, production and manufacturing.Design experience with motors, motor controllers, power supplies, inverters converters, andor power electronics..Familiarity with design practices that support scalability, such as modular firmware architecture, reusable hardware components, and robust testing frameworks.Working knowledge of standard communication buses and protocols (e.g. UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, etc.)Embedded hardware and software debugging skills. Familiar with testdebug tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and signal generators.Proficient in SMD soldering.Design and fabrication experience of harnesses.Experience working with vendors, contractors and managing the working relationship between vendors and full-time employees.
