The Payroll & Administrative Specialist is responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently while handling key administrative functions to support the company's daily operations. This role ensures compliance with payroll regulations, maintains employee records, and assists with general office administration.MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONSPayroll ProcessingProcess weekly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy in wages, deductions, and overtime calculations.Maintain payroll records, including timesheets, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.Work with HR to manage payroll adjustments related to new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes.Administrative SupportAssist with general office administration, including maintaining employee records and documentation.Prepare reports related to payroll, benefits, and compliance as needed.Support HR with onboarding paperwork, benefits enrollments, and employee record maintenance.Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information.Assist with audits, compliance reporting, and record-keeping.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, HR, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Five years experience in payroll processing, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.Knowledge of payroll systems and payroll tax regulations.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in data processing.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
